Gillian Shields writes both picture books and full-length children's fiction, using her experience as a drama teacher for inspiration. She lives a busy life, both writing and teaching, and lives in Sussex with her husband, two children and a little brown dog. She has written a number of picture books for Macmillan, including SAM'S SNOWFLAKE (978-0-230-53178-9) and HENRY'S HOLIDAY (978-0-230-73633-7).
