Product Information

Beautifully photographed and simply scripted, this book makes a positive statement about the inclusion of children with learning difficulties in mainstream schools. It is clear how much Victoria is achieving at school, and how well she interacts with her classmates. The book highlights the validity of inclusion of people with learning difficulties throughout our society, of celebrating diversity rather than fearing it... Victoria's Day shows that inclusion is more than just rhetoric, and that an able child such as Victoria can be helped to reach her full potential through access to her community. This book would enrich any nursery or primary school bookshelf. Royal Photographic Society Journal The book clearly makes the point that children with Down's syndrome enjoy the same activities and family life as other children. It is an excellent book for raising awareness at home, at the nursery, or in a classroom. This is a wonderful book to recommend to children with or without Down's syndrome. www.writeaway.org.uk We have such a poor record on physical difference in this country but a book such as this, expertly handled, without a hint of condescension or of embarrassment, should help us all move forward in this respect.
